India's Struggle

In India there are many problems that include child labor, human trafficking, and child exploitation. Human trafficking in India is for things like forced labor and basically child prostitution. Men, women, and children that are in debt are forced to work in places like rice mills, and embroidery factories. No professional studies on this human trafficking in India have been done but some NGO's say that the human trafficking affects tens of MILLIONS of Indians. India only has about 1.21 billion people so a good percentage of the Indian population is affected by human trafficking. In India children under the age of 14 are forced to work in glass blowing industries and carpet-making factories. It is reported that there are about 20-50 million child laberors and it has become acceptable in Northern India. Not only do the kids have to deal with being forced to work for extremely low wages, but they also have to work in unhygienic conditions. Child exploitation is also a growing problem in India. Exploitation means to take advantage of so basically it means people in India are taking advantage of children. This is the basically the same thing as rape in America but it is nowhere near as big of a problem as it is in India. Child exploitation could either mean taking advantage of children by making them do labor, or using them sexually.
